It also has a kitchen for food, room to rent, a market featuring various traders set up, and it serves as a crossroads and rest stop for pilgrims and various guilds members. Outwardly, it is warm, cozy, and unassuming.
Inwardly, it is one of the most information‑dense buildings in Atheria. It is the unofficial headquarters of the Hearthbound Compact where they conduct an intricate whisper‑network hub and successfully disguising it as hospitality.
Cross the Hearthbound and you'll fund yourself blacklisted by every Inn, carriage house and farm from the southern twin islands to the Underwell in the Northern Crescent Everyone knows the Hearthbound Compact operates here. No one acknowledges it. This is the way of the Respite.
Located at the Foundation level of the Solari capital, this massive, fortified carriage house processes all foreign merchants arriving from the lowlands. Carriages cannot go higher than this tier; from here, travelers must transition to the Silver Tethers or aerial transport.
The terminal where carriages unload passengers at the edge of the magically stabilized lagoon. From here, travelers swap their carriage seats for the living Branch-Lifts, taking the Amber-Pulse Funiculars up the Great Tree to catch the Mist-Rails.
A series of heavily bureaucratic wayhouses lining the primary logistical spine that connects the high-altitude peaks to the coastal lowlands. Expect heavy Gendarme oversight and mandatory resonance-toll inspections at every stop here.
